card.summary-with-large-image

twitter:card is summary with a large image. Level: Warning.

When it is raised

Raised when twitter:card is exactly summary and the card image was fetched, served as an image, and its width and height could be read from the file, with a width of 1,200 px or more. Only the width is tested, so a square image 1,200 px or wider raises it too. The image measured is the first of og:image, og:image:url, twitter:image and twitter:image:src that is set, so when og:image and twitter:image name different files, the og:image file is the one measured. Player and app cards are never flagged.

What it does to a shared link

The card image is 1,200 px wide or more, but twitter:card asks for the summary card. X's Cards documentation, since withdrawn, described the summary card as cropping the image to about 1:1 and summary_large_image as cropping it to about 1.91:1.

How to fix it

  1. Change the twitter:card content from summary to summary_large_image.
  2. Check the image is close to 1.91:1, for example 1,200 × 630 px.
  3. If the small card is intended, leave the warning in place. Making the measured image narrower than 1,200 px also clears it, but when og:image is set that image is the one measured, so the change applies wherever og:image is read.
