bytes.over-whatsapp
Image is over 600 KB. Level: Tip.
When it is raised
Raised when the image is larger than 600,000 bytes and no larger than 5,000,000 bytes. The size is the number of bytes downloaded, or the Content-Length header when the download stopped early, at the API's 2,500,000-byte limit or because the server stopped sending; if neither is known, no size check is made.
What it does to a shared link
WhatsApp documents 600 KB as the maximum size for a link-preview image, and this image is over it. It is inside the 8 MB maximum Facebook documents for og:image.
How to fix it
- Resize the image to 1200×630 px if it is larger.
- Save photographs as JPEG at a lower quality setting, and flat graphics as PNG with a reduced palette.
- Bring the file under 600,000 bytes and point og:image at it.
